I was grateful that they seated us in a private alcove perfect for just six people. Despite our isolated location, we were always checked on. I felt bad for the servers because they seemed terse in their interactions with us - probably due to the growing dinner crowd. The escargot en croute was a great way to start the meal. The light, flaky pastry was such a good contrast to the buttery snail. The wagyu zabuton and short rib are a must, as are the mussels. You can't go wrong with those orders. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying. Any of the desserts will please even the pickiest eater. But my favorite was the flourless chocolate cake. République supposedly opens for breakfast. I'm sure we'll swing by again to try their bakery and other morning offerings. Great spot, great vibes, excellent food.

this is one of the most stunning restaurants ive been to in a long time! the interior is very open and warm with high ceilings, lots of natural light, and wooden furniture. it's also not too loud inside. when i came on a friday morning, there were already a good amount of people here! i didn't wait too long though as it is counter-order. they basically have you walk through the pastry case at the front and order any pastries and your food at the register, then take a number and find a seat. they have indoor and outdoor seating which is nice! i ordered the shakshouka and my friend got the potato pancake, both of which were beautifully done and delicious! i do agree with the rave reviews, as the food was perfect on all fronts - flavor, texture, temperature, and service speed. the pastries are indeed unreal, i had a really hard time picking but im sure they are all delicious :) they do have valet which is expensive, so id recommend finding street parking behind the main street. the service was okay (it's such a large space that it might be hard for the servers to find you) and prices are definitely up there. i don't love that it's counter serve for how expensive it is. overall gorgeous and very delicious spot with standout pastries, but keep in mind the parking and the counter serve layout! would definitely recommend for a cute date, treating a friend out, or just to have a conversation over a delicious meal.

When we first arrive the line was out towards the end of the block. However the line moves pretty quick and we waited around 30 minutes to get our order taken which out party of 3 did not mind at all. The parking situation is sucks because the lot is small. That being said, there is plenty of street parking if you can find a meter. They have fresh pastries and they're all pretty unique. I personally tried the chocolate dipped Madeline and the dulce de leche pastry. Both were really delicious! The pastries are pretty pricy but it makes sense due to location (boogie) lol. I tried the chicken enchiladas the sauce was 10/10. Although they were pricy the portion was right for the price. I could do without all the fancy toppings but overall really good dish. Inside the location is super cute and well maintained. There is plenty of seating inside and outside of the location. I personally liked the outside to get fresh air and good lighting since it's pretty dark inside. The table service is pretty great due to the workers coming to refill water, take plates etc. The unfortunate part is that you have to order everything at the counter ahead of time. You can order at the table but it's just awkward concept imo. I wouldn't come here again as I like being serviced at the table and like the complete dinning experience. I would recommend if you're looking for something quick, easy and for the cute hipster vibes.

I'm not sure how I ever skipped reviewing Republique. I don't come here often but Republique is just THAT PLACE. I feel like you can almost order anything here and it'll be good. From the pastries to the food, it's hard to find something bad at Republique. I came here yesterday after a long time and there was a line out the door. I do recommend coming as early as possible but with that said came here around 9ish? and although the line seems pretty bad, it moves pretty quick. From them, you can order all your pastries and food and then if you decide to eat there, then they'll give you a cup so that the waiters will bring it to your table. It's super easy to go ham on ordering everything on the menu... Regardless...the potato pancake is prob a must. There aren't any misses but this one is a bit unique so you really should order this. It's almost like a hash brown(the pancake ) but better lol? Everything just works on this dish and I could eat this all day. My lobster omelette was awesome. It really sounds so simple but when you do it right, it's just on a different level. I'm that type of person that only orders dessert when I know it's good...and Republique's basque cheesecake is top tier. You know when you eat something so good, you frown about it....yea that was one of those things imo. If LA wasn't so far away(and I just don't like coming to LA in general), I would frequent Republique way more often. Truly Republique is one of a kind. I never had anything from their dinner menu before so this is based only on the breakfast stuff.
